5:30 pm — A very special occasion will take place for the first time at Truro Cathedral on Wednesday 3rd June at 5.30pm, as a complete Mass in Cornish is launched in the heart of Cornwall. This new musical setting, written by Mike O’Connor, is titled The Mass of the Resurrection. It is the first known complete Mass setting in Cornish designed for communal singing, making it accessible for everyone to take part. Based on Cornish folk melodies, the music has been created to be easy to learn and sing, with a strong focus on participation. The title reflects both the resurrection of Christ and the revival of the Cornish language itself.
